Our new Partner Leave policies

We’re introducing new, market leading Partner Leave policies for our colleagues from January 2023.

"Not only is this good for families, it also helps support wider cultural change by promoting a shared approach to childcare responsibilities early on.”

Alison Rose
CEO

Our Partner Leave policies, which are open to same sex parents as well as heterosexual parents, will replace existing Paternity Leave policies from 1 January 2023 in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, Republic of Ireland, India and Poland for new parents (parents of a child born or placed after 1 January 2023).

They introduce market leading support for eligible fathers/partners of mothers and other new parents, whether the child has arrived through birth, adoption, or surrogacy.

CEO Alison Rose said:

“We want to do more to help families thrive. The introduction of Partner Leave will make it possible for colleagues to spend more time supporting their partners who have given birth, had a child born through surrogacy or had a child placed through adoption.

“Not only is this good for families, it also helps support wider cultural change by promoting a shared approach to childcare responsibilities early on.”

Our new policies represent significant improvement on our current Paternity Leave policies. For example, in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, ROI and Poland, the Partner Leave policies provide the same pay and leave entitlements as the local Maternity and Adoption Leave policies do.
