Experience
Nigel joined the Group as Chief Communications Officer on 1 June 2020, with over 25 years’ experience in communications and financial services.
For the previous ten years, Nigel was Group Communications Director at Aviva plc, the FTSE100 insurer with 33 million customers and 30,000 employees across 14 markets, where he led an award-winning communications team.
In the 15 years prior to joining Aviva, Nigel was one of the specialist financial services partners at Brunswick Group LLP, the communications consultancy. He helped to grow the then largest international financial services practice in the industry, advising banking, insurance and asset management clients on all aspects of their reputation.
Nigel joined Brunswick in 1995 from Barings (corporate finance) having graduated from Cambridge University (Emmanuel College) in 1993. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Freeman of the Goldsmiths’ Company. Nigel is married to Clare and they have three children.
