We’re passionate about building a culture where everyone has the opportunity to succeed - creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture is integral to fulfilling our purpose.

So it’s great to see that our efforts have been recognised by our inclusion in the Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality list – a list we’re proud to have featured on since it was set up in 2006.

Run by business network Business in the Community, it’s the UK’s highest profile indicator of employers leading the way on workplace gender equality. Employers who make it on to the list are assessed on a range of issues that impact gender equality at work including transparency around pay, family friendly policies and approach to flexible working.

David Lindberg, CEO, Retail Banking, and our Executive Sponsor for gender equality said: “This is great recognition of the progress we’re making when it comes to gender equality – and it wouldn’t be possible without the underlying culture change that’s accompanied our policy improvements. We all have a part to play in achieving gender equality. We’re not there yet, but we’re on the journey together, supporting each other through the highs and lows – and that’s something we can all take pride in.”

Our Chief People and Transformation Officer, Jen Tippin, added “I feel incredibly proud of our inclusion in the TT50. It shows that the major, industry-leading steps we’ve taken, like our new Partner Leave policy, alongside small changes like ensuring we have diverse interview panels, are really starting to make a positive difference. Despite this, there’s still more we can do, and we’ll keep on listening and taking action to reach the targets we’ve set and create a safe, happy and healthy environment for everyone.”

The TT50 list will be profiled in the printed edition of The Times on June 29th and also in a digital supplement hosted on The Times website (not behind the paywall) as well as the BITC site
