The Board of Directors is the principal decision-making forum for the company. In order to provide effective oversight and leadership, the Board has established a number of Board Committees with particular responsibilities. All other matters, including day to day responsibility for the operations of the company, are delegated to the Group Chief Executive Officer who is supported by the Executive management team. Throughout the year ended 31 December 2021, NatWest Group plc (“the company”) applied the Principles and complied with all of the Provisions of the UK Corporate Governance Code issued by the Financial Reporting Council dated July 2018 (the “Code”), subject to the exceptions disclosed in the statement of compliance set out on page 181 of the Annual Report and Accounts 2021 (PDF 5.8MB).
