NatWest Group aims to help more than 10,000 young people take their next step towards employment, training or starting a business in their local communities over the next two years.
1
Building financial confidence and future skills
Financial confidence and capability are important foundations for helping young people make informed decisions, achieve their goals and prepare for the future.
Through NatWest Thrive, we'll continue working with local authorities, education providers and youth clubs to help young people develop skills through learning opportunities spanning money management, entrepreneurship, careers and future pathways.
2
Opening pathways into work experience and employment
We’ll expand access to meaningful work experience and T Level placements, tailored to local priorities and opportunities for young people.
We’ll also continue to invest in apprenticeships, internships and graduate programmes, creating clearer connections between local youth partnerships and NatWest Early Careers opportunities. By working with businesses across the country, we can help young people gain experience, build connections and explore workplaces, sectors and career paths beyond NatWest.
3
Helping young entrepreneurs start and grow
We’re creating a new Young Founders Community for 18 to 25-year-olds who want to explore entrepreneurship or develop and scale an existing business idea.
Launching nationwide in January, the Young Founders Community will build on NatWest’s network of 18 Accelerators across the UK and its growing partnerships with universities. Young people will be able to connect with other entrepreneurs and access mentors, specialist support, learning opportunities and partner benefits, in person and through the Accelerator App.
Backing the next generation
Chief People Officer Maria Kokkinou breaks down NatWest Group’s Youth Offer and explores how stronger connections between education, employers and local communities can help more young people take their next step.
Starting in Greater Manchester
Greater Manchester will be home to the first NatWest Youth Offer pilot. A further pilot is in development with the East Midlands Combined Authority.
- NatWest works with more than 55,000 businesses and founders across Greater Manchester.
- Through the pilot, we’ll work with business customers alongside NatWest branches and our Spinningfields office to give young people greater exposure to different workplaces, sectors and career paths.
- Manchester businesses supporting the initial work-experience activity include Polyflor, NorthStone Homes and Permanently Unique Restaurant Group.
NatWest has also worked with The Growth Company ahead of launch to align the Youth Offer with Greater Manchester’s delivery of T Levels and wider work placements.
