Creating the conditions for innovation

Innovation scales more quickly when people and organisations are physically close – encouraging the flow of ideas, capital and vital collaboration.  Innovation clusters bring together ambitious businesses, university expertise and investors in the same place, creating connected ecosystems where ideas scale faster.

We’re supporting innovation clusters to form and grow through our Accelerator hubs, venture banking teams and network of Regional Boards and relationship managers all working to help innovators easily access the networks, finance and expertise needed to grow.

NatWest Venture Banking

NatWest Venture Banking was created to meet growing demand from founders and investors for more sophisticated, joined‑up financial partners, supporting companies through every stage of growth.

It brings a combination of scale, strong regional relationships and long-term commitment. The proposition connects early-stage support with later phases of growth, bringing together specialist expertise, access to the wider ecosystem and long-standing customer relationships so we can be a consistent, trusted partner throughout a company’s journey.

A decade of accelerating entrepreneurs

Since 2015, the NatWest Accelerator has supported over 12,000 entrepreneurs from idea to scaleup. In 2026, we’re upping that ambition even more with a target to welcome 50,000 entrepreneurs to the community.

Our own research shows that nine out of 10 businesses who complete the NatWest Accelerator are still trading three years afterwards, against a control group of four out of 10*
