£200m to help business cut energy costs

The fund, run by RBS Corporate & Institutional Banking, will finance a range of sustainable energy projects including retro-fitting buildings with more energy efficient heating and lighting. It will also help companies introduce on-site wind power and ground source heat pumps.

The new fund is backed by the Government’s Funding for Lending scheme which allows us to offer lower lending rates to businesses.

RBS was the biggest lender to UK renewable projects in 2011, and we have embarked on a number of energy efficiency measures within our own business.
