CashBack Plus is a loyalty programme that enables RBS and NatWest current account holders to earn “Rewards” for any qualifying spending they do using their debit card. The rewards can either be exchanged for money which is transferred into the customer’s current account, traded up for gift cards or tickets from participating retailers, or changed into money and donated to one of a selection of charities.
Customers who spend £1 using an RBS or NatWest debit card will earn at least 0.01 rewards, equivalent to 1p when redeemed. Retailers participating in the scheme include BP, New Look and Café Nero, and customers are notified by email when new retailers join the scheme or new offers become available.
CashBack Plus is available on RBS and NatWest personal current accounts held in mainland UK, with the exception of Basic, Key and Cash accounts and current account mortgage products. The scheme is only available to customers aged 18 or more.
Existing RBS and NatWest current account customers can sign up to the scheme using their tablet, mobile or personal computer..
The independent panel that judged contestants for Best Card Benefits Programme 2014, which was part of the Card & Payments Awards, were looking for entrants who demonstrated how they have addressed customer needs.
