Just £1 is enough to pay for a child in Uganda to be tested for malaria and receive life saving treatment while £20 could buy a Braille kit to enable a blind child in Kenya to have a proper education. And £100 could provide four therapy sessions for a child in the UK who has suffered neglect and abuse to help them cope with their traumatic experience.

RBS is the only banking group to become a supporting partner of Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2013. It is working closely with the charity in encouraging customers and staff to raise a smile at the same time as raising money.

The Group will match every penny raised by staff, so please support them in their in-branch fundraising activities all over the UK this week.  RBS sport ambassadors Phil Vickery, Scott Quinnell, Chris Paterson and Michael Vaughn have already visited branches to sign red noses and support the charity.

How to switch off your paper statements

Customers who bank online and would like to do their bit for trees by switching off paper statements simply need to log in, choose ‘account admin’, select 'stop or start receiving paper statements' and click 'no' under ‘bank statements by post’.

If you don’t bank online, it just takes a few minutes to activate the service through natwest.com or rbs.co.uk - all you need is your account details and debit card.
