Pay Your Contacts
Pay Your Contacts allows customers to send instant payments of up to £300 to any of their phone contacts who also have the NatWest or RBS app. It’s already been a big hit with customers – in the first 24 hours after the release on 7 June nearly 5,000 payments were made using the upgrade.
GetCash
Mobile Banking – part of UK Retail’s Digital business – is also behind the innovative GetCash upgrade, which has already been the focus of much media attention. GetCash allows customers to withdraw up to £100 from any RBS, NatWest or Tesco ATM without their debit card.
To use the upgrade, customers simply select the Get Cash icon on the app and choose the amount they would like to withdraw. The app then delivers a secure, six-digit cash code that can be redeemed at the ATM. The service can be used as many times as the customer wants, up to their daily withdrawal limit.
There is also the option to send the secure code to someone else - great for those times when you need to send cash to a friend or relative.
For additional security, in both cases, the code expires if it hasn’t been used within three hours.
Get Cash is expected to launch on Android mid-June followed by the iPhone release and completing with the BlackBerry version in July.
These new releases offer customers even more flexibility when it comes to managing their finances.
The NatWest and RBS mobile apps are available for customers over the age of 11, with a valid current account, who have registered for online banking.
