Mushira Abubakar from our Manchester call centre shares her plans for Christmas Day.
24 Dec 2014
Although tomorrow is Christmas day, I’ll be working in our Manchester call centre - helping customers with lost or stolen credit cards.
Some of our customers who are out and about tonight will wake up on Christmas Day unsure of where their card is, whether that means it’s been lost or stolen. That’s why I’ll be working. You can call me and my colleagues and we’ll do our best to sort you out. We can check your last transactions, get the card cancelled and send you a new one. Bank holidays mean that many of our departments close down but it's important for our team that we keep a 24/7 service, 365 days a year.
Working on Christmas Day is different to most other days. It’s a bit quieter and more relaxed around here - it’s nice to be able to dress down a little and there’s a lot more chocolate around the office than usual!
It's good to be there for customers; from the people I speak to I know you want to be enjoying the day, relaxing and spending time with family. You really don’t want to be worrying about your credit card. As long as we’re here, we can do what we need to, to protect your accounts and get you back on your feet. Not that it's just lost and stolen credit cards I can help with. I'm also on hand to assist with other credit card queries or online queries to do with the card.
It's easy to accidentally lose a credit card at any time; day or night, Christmas Day or not. If that turns out to be you this year then my colleagues and I are here to help. Happy holidays everyone and all the best for 2015.
