In total, NatWest together with RBS will open 65 branches across the UK. This is 31 more branches than during the bank's successful trial earlier in the month.
The way people bank is changing, so NatWest and RBS are adapting by opening their branches when many customers are not at work. NatWest and RBS have added to the list of branches they will open and will continue to have extra mortgage advisers available.
Many small business owners found the earlier bank holiday opening useful to deposit their takings from the weekend. As a result of this feedback and new for this bank holiday, extra business managers will also be in some of the branches to help small business customers.
Jane Howard, Managing Director of Branch and Private Banking, NatWest and RBS said:
“After the trial of our last bank holiday opening, the feedback from our customers and staff was overwhelmingly positive. As a result, we’re extending our opening to the forthcoming May bank holiday.
“Banking has changed dramatically over the last few years and we’re continually looking at ways to adapt and improve the service we provide. Our customers have busy lives and can’t always make it to a branch during the week. We want to make their lives easier by opening more of our branches on a day when they are traditionally off work. Whatever our customers’ banking needs – a mortgage, small business support or just a general check on their finances, we’re here to help.”
