Jonathan Jiang is joining RBS as Head of Global Network Banking for RBS in China. Mr. Jiang will be responsible for further strengthening the bank's business with multinationals in China, through RBS' leading payments, trade, foreign exchange (FX) and working capital platforms.

This marks the fourth key hire RBS has made in China this year, most recently, Sherry Liu joined as China Chairman and CEO from JP Morgan Chase; Frank Hamer joined as Global Transaction Services Country Head for China and Li Cui joined as Chief China Economist. This series of senior appointments demonstrates RBS’s commitment to continuing to invest and build its franchise in country.

Commenting on the appointment, Pieter Leyssius, Head of Global Network Banking, Asia Pacific for RBS said: "Jonathan Jiang brings 12 years of extensive, all-round banking experience in China to his new role with RBS. Mr. Jiang will report jointly into Pieter Leyssius and Frank Hamer, as Global Transaction Services Country Head for China. Previously Jonathan Jiang headed up the China sales team for Global Treasury Services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Frank Hamer also commented, "Jonathan’s appointment demonstrates our continuing commitment to building our corporate banking business in China and Asia Pacific. His strong business network will be an asset to an already very strong team".
