RBS appoints Jan de Ruiter as Interim Country Head for France

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) announced today the appointment of Jan de Ruiter as its interim Country Head for France, with immediate effect.

Mr de Ruiter also remains Country Head of RBS for the Netherlands, a position he has held since 2008. A permanent Country Head for France will be appointed shortly. Mr de Ruiter will succeed Philippe Wahl, who held the post of Country Head for France at RBS, following the latter's nomination as CEO of La Banque Postale.

Prior to Mr de Ruiter's position as Country Head of RBS for the Netherlands, he held various leadership positions at ABN Amro, including Head of European Equity Sales , Head of Equity Capital Markets for the Netherlands and in 2000 he was co-head of ABN AMRO Rothschild. In 2004, he became Head of Global Mergers & Acquisitions for ABN . In his new capacity as Interim Country Head for France, Mr de Ruiter will continue to report into Marco Mazzucchelli, Deputy CEO of RBS Global Banking & Markets.

Commenting on these changes, Mr Mazzucchelli said: "I am pleased that Jan will assume responsibility for France until a new CEO has been appointed.
