RBS publishes its 2014 Sustainability Report

RBS has published its 2014 Sustainability Report, setting out how we run our business sustainably and responsibly for the long term.

In the report you can read about the progress we’ve made over the last year in making our business practices fairer for our customers and our communities.

Our achievements include the fact that, over the period 2011-2014, RBS continued to be the largest renewables project financier in the UK by both number of transactions and total value. We have also set a target for more than 30% of our most senior roles to be filled by women by 2020 and the bank is now an accredited Living Wage employer. We’ve also set up a Consumer Affairs team with particular focus on financial inclusion and supporting vulnerable customers.

Improving our reputation is crucial to achieving our ambition of being number one for customer service, trust and advocacy. We’re committed to becoming the most transparent UK bank, and to improving the quality and materiality of our sustainability reporting and disclosures year on year.

RBS will continue to be scrutinised on numerous levels, and it’s important that we are transparent on issues like conduct, litigation and tax. We are making good progress on this and, in 2014, Transparency International ranked us number 1 in the UK for transparency in corporate reporting.
