RBS strengthens Latin American Debt Capital Markets team

RBS Securities Inc. (RBS) today announced that Antonio Villa has joined the firm's Global Banking & Markets division in the Americas as a Managing Director on its Latin American Debt Capital Markets team.

Mr. Villa will be responsible for originating investment grade and non-investment grade bond and loan transactions in support of the firm's Mexican clients. He will be based in Stamford, CT and report to Charles Achoa, Head of Latin America Debt Capital Markets and Co-Head of RBS's Global Banking & Markets business in Latin America.

Mr. Villa brings to RBS more than 20 years of banking experience throughout the Latin American debt capital markets, including extensive expertise in the Mexican fixed income marketplace. He joins RBS from Barclays Capital Casa De Bolsa, S.A. de C.V. where he was Director of Investment Banking and led Barclays' debt capital markets initiatives in Mexico to originate and execute all local asset-backed and corporate transactions. Prior to Barclays, Mr. Villa was a Director at ABN AMRO Securities (Mexico) S.A. de C.V., where he was responsible for originating and executing local and international debt capital markets transactions for all Mexican corporate and sovereign entities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Villa held senior positions at Deutsche Bank Securities where he was Head of Debt Capital Markets for Mexico and at JP Morgan Securities where he co-headed their Latin America structured finance team.
