RugbyForce, a community volunteering programme created by RBS in 2009, is delivered in partnership with the four home rugby unions in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. This year, over 500 clubs have already registered to take part, and this number will continue to rise until the final RBS RugbyForce Weekends are hosted in Scotland in August.

Two of the clubs who hosted a Weekend event were Mitcham RFC, from Surrey, and Crymych RFC, in North Wales.

Mitcham RFC

With clubs celebrating the Diamond Jubilee across the UK, Mitcham got into the spirit by donning flags and royal facemasks before they began their RBS RugbyForce Weekend.

The main focus for the 30 or so volunteers was transforming a derelict space behind their clubhouse into a functional area for its members.

The workforce who carried out the improvements included two special visitors, England legend Jason Leonard and Wasps and England scrum half Joe Simpson who dropped in to help out with the repairs.

Mitcham have also shared updates on their renovations on the RBS RugbyForce Facebook page - take a look to find out more about their weekend.

Crymych RFC

Wales stars Martyn Williams and Ryan Bevington dropped in to Crymych RFC to lend a hand, as the club embarked on an ambitious plan to extend their pitches and decorate the clubhouse. There will be more space for the club's youth section to train, and the club will generate more revenue with facilities more attractive to members and local groups who use the premises.
