Ulster Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Brown to the position of Chief Executive, Ulster Bank.

Jim has most recently held the position of CEO Retail & Commercial Markets Asia for RBS having worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. In his most recent role he has been responsible for the day to day management of the Retail and Commercial businesses leading over 7,000 employees across Asia and the Middle East.

A native of New Zealand, Jim has spent his career to date working across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining RBS, he held a number of senior management roles at ABN Amro. He also held various senior positions at Citibank in Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand.

Commenting on the appointment Brian Hartzer, Chief Executive, UK Retail, Wealth and Ulster said "Jim brings a wealth of experience to this position which underlines our ongoing commitment to Ulster Bank and to the island of Ireland. Ulster Bank will benefit hugely from his experience of successfully leading businesses across a range of diverse markets, delivering strong financial results through change and difficult market conditions. This is a challenging time but a significant amount of work has already been done to position Ulster Bank for recovery in the longer term. Under Jim's leadership I believe that we will be well placed to continue to deliver excellent service for our 1.9 million customers across the island of Ireland."
