Newington Dental Care, located at 5 Duncan Street, has recently completed a 12-month renovation, supported by Royal Bank of Scotland lending, and offers 5 modern dental surgeries in a traditional setting.
Dr Maria Ertz, the practice’s Principal Dentist, opened the practice in April 2026 in response to the shortage of NHS dental provision in Edinburgh. The practice welcomes both NHS and private patients and is currently open for new patient registrations.
Dr Maria Ertz, has 35 years of experience across a wide range of dental treatments. She is initially supported by two associate dentists, a dental hygienist and three dental nurses, with plans to add further dentists and therapists as the practice grows.
The practice aims to provide a patient-focused service in the heart of Newington, offering NHS treatment alongside complementary private options where patients choose them.
