London, 28 September 2026 – Sainsbury’s Money and NatWest Boxed today announce the launch of the first products under the long-term strategic partnership announced in April, with additional benefits for Nectar members.
Customers can now apply for a Sainsbury’s Personal Loan, powered by NatWest Boxed, through the Sainsbury’s Money website. Whether it is buying a car or improving a home, the loans offer practical support for customers planning their next step. while members of Nectar, the UK’s largest loyalty programme with more than 24 million members, can epresentative 6.3% APR by providing their Nectar card number*.
An instant access savings account will follow in October. Designed for customers who want their money to work harder without tying it up, it will allow deposits and withdrawals at any time, with no penalty for taking money out. The rate, which will be confirmed at launch, will be competitive and even better for Nectar members.
Today's announcement follows the launch of Sainsbury's Money in July 2026 and the completion of the Sainsbury's Bank transformation.
Sainsbury's set out a new direction for its financial services business in 2024, and Sainsbury's Money now works with specialist partners to bring customers simple, competitive products, rather than operating a bank itself. Personal loans and savings are the first products to reach customers under that model.
Andrew Ellis, CEO of NatWest Boxed, said:
“This partnership brings together Sainsbury’s Money’s understanding of its customers with our banking expertise and technology. NatWest Boxed provides the platform, banking capability and operational support behind the scenes, so customers can apply for a loan or open a savings account through the Sainsbury’s Money experience they already know and trust.”
Patrick Short, Managing Director of Financial Services at Sainsbury's, said:
“Sainsbury's Money is about offering our customers straightforward products that are built around what they actually need, with the extra value they already expect from Nectar. Working with NatWest Boxed brings together their banking expertise and our understanding of our customers, so we can offer genuinely competitive products, with an even better rate for our Nectar members.”
Personal loans and instant access savings accounts are the first two products under NatWest and Sainsbury’s long-term strategic partnership. The partnership will also see NatWest Retail provide a new NatWest Nectar credit card later this year.
