NatWest is supporting the transformation of Slough’s high street through an £8.75 million development loan to deliver a new family entertainment centre.
The Mega City venue opened in June, and offers a wide range of attractions, including ten-pin bowling, a 190 player gaming arcade, a laser tag arena, virtual darts, pool tables, virtual clay pigeon shooting, laser mazes, virtual football, pixel floor games, karaoke, augmented reality cricket, VR arenas, an augmented reality room, three bars and a restaurant.
Led by siblings Mandeep Dhanoa, Luke Dhanoa and Jeet Grewal, the business is building on the success of its Airport Bowl site in Hayes.
Mega City Limited acquired the three-storey high street site in 2023 and has since completed a major redevelopment, adding an additional storey and incorporating significant energy efficiency improvements.
NatWest’s funding and support has enabled Mega City Limited to complete the project and keep the build on track while managing costs effectively. The transition from a development loan to a commercial mortgage will support the business's ambition to expand with additional sites across the UK.
The company has already created over 80 local jobs, with further opportunities expected as the business grows.
Reflecting changing customer behaviour, the business is incorporating online bookings, QR code attraction activation and cashless payments to make the customer experience as seamless as possible.
Luke Dhanoa, spokesperson for Mega City Limited, said:
“We’re thrilled to be bringing Mega City to Slough and we can’t wait to see people coming in and enjoying themselves. The whole team are so excited and proud to be bringing something new for the community and creating jobs for the area. NatWest’s support has been instrumental because they really understand our vision and have been working in partnership with us to navigate the challenges of launching a flagship site.”
Steve Spurling, Relationship Manager at NatWest, commented:
“This is a fantastic development and one we’re proud to support. Mega City Limited has shown real ambition and commitment in delivering a high-quality entertainment destination for the Slough community.
“This investment is helping to revitalise the high street and create jobs, supporting our mission to empower UK regions and drive sustainable local growth.”
As the UK’s largest bank for businesses, NatWest Group is supporting enterprise across communities. Mega City Limited’s expansion reflects the bank’s focus on breaking down barriers, building financial confidence, and helping local businesses thrive.
