Experience

Solange Chamberlain is Chief Executive Officer of NatWest's Retail Banking business. She is responsible for overseeing the strategy, operations and performance of the bank's retail franchise as well as our payments businesses. Solange and her teams lead the activity and innovation that powers the experience of over 18 million customers.

Prior to her current role she was NatWest’s Group Director, Strategic Development, responsible for working with the executive leadership team to put in place and progress the bank’s strategy alongside leading the Climate and Sustainable Banking agenda. Solange has strong track record in strategic transformation, digital and balance sheet management. She was also previously the Chief Operating Officer of NatWest’s Commercial & Institutional (C&I) franchise, playing a leading role in bringing together the businesses supporting the bank’s customers from entrepreneurs and start-ups through to multi-nationals and financial institutions. During this time, she was also the Group’s representative on RBS International Board.

Before joining NatWest in 2019, Solange held a number of senior roles at a wide range of financial institutions, including spending time at Lloyds Banking Group, Lazard, Citigroup and Perella Weinberg. 

Originally from France, Solange attended Imperial College London with a first-class honours’ degree in Mathematics. She resides in London with her husband and two daughters.
