In 2025, NatWest Group established the Mid-Market Growth Council. Chaired by CEO Paul Thwaite, and backed by Treasury and the Department for Business and Trade, the Council provides a unified voice for mid-market businesses and champions policies to unlock their growth potential.

£2.9m funding for West Midlands steel manufacturer
We’re supporting mid-market firms like USP Steels with their expansion ambitions.
The £2.9m funding package is supporting USP Steels’ ambition of becoming the UK’s leading steel processing centre whilst continuing to deliver benefits within the local community.
Commenting on the funding support, Glyn Costigan, Managing Director and Owner of USP Steels, said: “The funding package from NatWest marks a pivotal moment in our growth journey, strengthening capacity, enhancing our processing capabilities, and supporting our commitment to sustainable, locally-focused operations.”
£30m funding to drive North West development
Through a £30m funding package, we’re enabling Lancashire-based property developer, the Eric Wright Group to grow.
The funding package will be instrumental in supporting the cash flow for the Group’s ongoing investment and development activities. A key area of focus is the development of high-quality care homes.
